- Can anyone extend my Flight Duty Period (FDP) without my consent?
- Why is OCC extending my FDP by +3 Hours?
- Will I get into trouble if I chose not to extend my FDP?
No. The willingness to extend FDP is an individual’s right. No one should extend nor pressure you to extend your FDP.
At no time is OCC is extending FDP without crew consent.
FDP limits continue to be guided by ANR and any extension remains the sole discretion of the individual and the Commander.
FDP+3 hours is solely an operational tool for OCC to pre-empt its own processes should a crew set decide to extend their FDP. At no time should that be construed as the Norm.
If you feel otherwise, you may reach out to your Union reps.
